Does Sobeys price match?
The policy, plainly
Sobeys' published "Verified Prices" program — offered in Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, NL, PEI) for a limited time — automatically credits the difference in Scene+ points when a flyer item Sobeys has marked with the "Verified Prices" icon is cheaper at one of its pre-selected brick-and-mortar competitors. The official process is a points guarantee on items Sobeys selects, not a customer-triggered price reduction using a competitor flyer at checkout.
Scope: This is not a national at-the-till price match. The current terms expressly cover participating Atlantic Canada stores; Sobeys also shows examples from other regions, so check the local flyer.
Program scope and exclusions
- What counts as a competitor
- For the Verified Prices points program (offered in Atlantic Canada, for a limited time): pre-selected "competing supermarkets" — brick-and-mortar only (e.g. Atlantic Superstore, No Frills, Walmart, Your Independent Grocer; the exact list varies by province), excluding online/e-commerce — and only on identical items Sobeys has flagged with the "Verified Prices" icon in its own flyer. There is no general, customer-initiated competitor price match.
- Proof you need
- None from you — Sobeys pre-verifies competitors' flyers itself. You just show your Scene+ card and the points difference is credited automatically. You can't bring in a competitor flyer to match an unmarked item.
- Offered in Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, NL, PEI), for a limited time; applies only to flyer items bearing the "Verified Prices" icon
- Excludes competitor e-commerce / online pricing (brick-and-mortar competitors only)
- Excludes competitor promotions, pricing errors and items purchased with a raincheck; no raincheck is issued for a points difference
- The benefit is Scene+ points, not a lower shelf or till price; you must be a Scene+ member and scan your card
- Sobeys may limit quantities and can modify or end the program without notice
How Sobeys "Verified Prices" works
- 01Do not treat Verified Prices as a general till match: the published process uses Sobeys' own pre-verification rather than a customer-supplied competitor flyer.
- 02In Atlantic Canada, show your Scene+ card at checkout; if a flyer item marked with the "Verified Prices" icon is cheaper at a pre-verified competitor, the difference is automatically credited to your account as Scene+ points.
- 03For an actual lower price at the till, shop a banner that matches flyers — for example sister-banner FreshCo (1¢ below) or No Frills.
Sobeys' Atlantic Verified Prices promotion awards Scene+ points on selected marked items; it is not a customer-initiated till match. FreshCo, No Frills and Real Canadian Superstore publish separate competitor-flyer programs.
