Does No Frills price match?
The policy, plainly
Show No Frills a major supermarket competitor's current flyer (print or digital) for an eligible item and the store will match that lower price, subject to its current terms. Despite the "Won't Be Beat®" branding, the program matches the competitor's price — it doesn't undercut it — and No Frills decides which competitors, trade areas and "comparable items" count "solely at our discretion."
Scope: No Frills publishes the program on its Canadian site; each store chooses eligible major competitors in its local trade area.
Program scope and exclusions
- What counts as a competitor
- A "Major Supermarket Competitor" listed for your local store's geographic trade area; the list varies by store and is set at No Frills' discretion. Its legal text allows identical items or comparable private-label items, while the same page's quick checklist says competitor private labels do not qualify. Confirm that edge case locally.
- Proof you need
- Yes — show the competitor's complete current ad in digital or print form with all valid information and effective dates.
- "Spend X Get X", "Free", and email/online-exclusive offers
- Loyalty-program discounts, including PC Optimum Member Pricing
- Gas stations, pharmacy/prescriptions, and third-party Meat/Seafood/BBQ/Bakery counters
- Marketplace items sold and shipped by third-party sellers
- Capped at four per item; the advertisement must be complete and current
How to price match at No Frills
- 01Find an identical item advertised cheaper in a major supermarket competitor's current, unexpired flyer (digital or print) — one listed for your local store.
- 02Locate the exact same item in your No Frills — same brand, type, size and measurement.
- 03At checkout, show the complete current ad with valid dates; the store verifies eligibility and matches the accepted price.
No Frills, FreshCo and Real Canadian Superstore publish eligible local-competitor programs. No Frills matches the accepted price rather than going 1¢ lower, and its exclusions and local competitor list must be checked separately.
